Will serving South Korean Army make me a better candidate?

I want to become an environmental engineer and since I am Korean, I have to serve in the military for 2 years. Then, I will come back to the U.S and find a job.

will having foreign military experience help me become a more competitive applicant?

No. Serving in the military in America doesn't help any so don't count on it.

    Applicant for what?

Why would service as a conscript in a foreign military help you with anything in the US? Think about it. Would 2 years of service in the US military help with anything in..oh..say Spain?

The experience would be useful if it relates to your occupation. What army you serve in is irrelevant.

If you have US citizenship (are you dual?) I would join the US army and get the gi bill benefits. They are probably a lot better than the SK benefits.
