Why does the United States decide which countries can have nuclear weapons?

Considering the USA is the only country in history that has used WMD on another sovereign nation, isn't America the guy holding the gun saying "Firearms are bad"?

If the United States and Israel were really concerned about Iran inciting a nuclear weapons arms race in the middle east then they would move towards establishing a middle east nuclear weapons free zone. Two nations are blocking any diplomatic solution towards this goal, namely the United States and Israel.

US diplomatic support enabled India, Pakistan, and Israel to develop nuclear weapons outside of the Internal Atomic Energy Agencies. These are far worse violation of international law than anything Iran is doing. Worse yet, the aforementioned nations are not even signatories on the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty--again far worse crimes than anything Iran is doing.

America is in gross violation of the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty. As a high contracting party of the UN, and a nuclear weapons state she is obligated to take measures to eliminate nuclear weapons. Israel and America repeat the rhetoric of the NPT but they block any measures to establishing a nuclear weapons free zone.

The real reason why the United States and Israel are concerned about Iran developing WMD's is because no nation (outside of client states) are allowed to develop a deterrent to US/Israeli aggression. No serious strategic or military analyst thinks that if Iran develop nuclear weapons she would actually use them in a first strike. It would just be a deterrent to US/Israeli aggression. Unthinkable to the planners to Washington. You have to be weak and defenseless (like Iraq) so we can bomb the hell out of you whenever we damn well please.

Keep in mind, the US used 2 atomic bombs 65 years ago, none since. It shows how much they can be trusted with them. Can you say the same about North Korea or Iran? North Korea threatened nuclear war just a couple weeks ago. Iran has made threats of wiping Israel off the map. Pakistan and India nearly came to nuclear war 10 years ago.

The US isn't the only country that wants North Korea to give up it's nukes. Iran's neighbors are hoping the US or Israel does something to make sure it doesn't get them.

Other countries have used WMD. Saddam Hussein used them on the Kurds, for example. WMD were used quite a bit during WWI. Adolph Hitler was gassed, for example. Anyway, most of us are opposed to nuclear proliferation.
