Cast away movie question.?

At the end of the movie cast away with Tom hanks he just stands in the middle of the road and the movie ends.. I don't get it what happened??

    I think it's more like he's deciding where to head next.

    The movie is all about journeys and destinations. He lost his way once, found it back - and it wasn't the same place anymore.

    He meets this beautiful woman just before that last scene on the road. My guess is that he'd probably think about his next destination, while having a cup of coffee at her place.

    Or maybe I'm being too optimistic ;-)
