# What does .0015mfd equal in pF's?

I need a .005 mfd 600V polypropylene capacitor for a project that I am doing but all of the websites that I have been going to have the smallest mfd of 0.1 and everything else above that is in pF's. Please help me out.

and as a result, they label µF values as mF.

The 0.0015 mF is probably actually a 0.0015 µF cap. That is 1.5 nF or 1500 pF

The 0.005 mF is probably actually a 0.005 µF cap. That is 5 nF or 5000 pF

I actually ran across two capacitor retailers that labeled 1000 µF as 1000 F

SI (metric) prefixes:

da (deca) = x10 (rarely used)

h (hecto) = x100 (rarely used)

k (kilo) = x1000 = e3

M (Mega) = x1000000 = e6

G (Giga) = x1000000000 = e9

T (Tera) = x1000000000000 = e12

P (Peta) = x1000000000000000 = e15

E (Exa) = x1000000000000000000 = e18

Z (Zetta) = x1000000000000000000000 = e21
