No difference. Ahle-sunnah wal Jamait means Sunnis.

Those who follow the Quran and the Sunna of the Prophet (saw).

It is the beliefs you hold, not the title that you keep that determines if you are a Muslim. The best of titles is Muslim. To determine if Sunnis have split from Islam or not, you must only look into the meaning of Alhus Sunnah wal Jama'ah. 'The people of the Sunnah (of the Prophet)'. "Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance." (24:54) The meaning of the name is in direct accordance with Quran, but I will prefer to call myself a Muslim who strives to follow the Quran and the Sunnah, Insha Allah.
