Is the United Nations still relevant?

Of course the United Nations is highly relevant and will remain so, much to the consternation of World Dominance seeking right-wing Republicans (see YWAM website and their "7 Mountains" agenda).
Have you ever heard of an arbitrator being used to settle disputes between labor and management during contract talks? The United Nations plays a similar role, but on a global scale. The UN is a giant "think tank" sort of place where all member nations can come together in a neutral setting to voice opinions, vent their frustratons and furies, and then have arbitration (and discussions) with an eye to resolving international differences with other member nation(s). The UN provides the forum for this vital process and acts as arbitrator or overseer on an as-needed basis, with the consensus of a majority of the member nations.
For example, we have partnered with the UN (other allied nations in agreement) to place sanctions on Iran for seeking to develop any nuclear weapons that might ultimately endanger neighboring countries. Since the UN also sanctioned these sanctions upon Iran, the United States is not coming across as a unilateral (all by itself) BULLY because the other member nations support the decision through the UN. The UN was also against Israel's recent aggressive and deadly attack of a humanitarian supply ship trying to get past Israel's unauthorized (and NOT sanctions by the UN) blockade of the Gaza Strip to bring needed supplies to Palestineans trapped behind the lines, and urged talks to settle things peacefully between the two nations.

No and it really never has been. Its only relevant to countries that are in it. But countries like Korea and Kim Jong-il(or how ever you spell it) dont care what the UN says. The UN is a joke and it only punishes those who are active in it.

Nobody cares about the UN except when it suits their needs.
