If the United States cut ALL foreign aid, would the United States be better off, and?
would the countries that were cut suffer at all? Would cutting aid be beneficial to the United States financially, and morally? Would the aid be used to help people in need in the USA? Are the needy in foreign countries actually receiving the aid, or is used to make their government even richer?

The world would be a better and safer place if the US stopped all foreign aid both financial and military.

If you cut off foreign aid, how would you get countries to go along with the US on anything? In the recent climate conference in Cancun, smaller, poorer countries will receive over a billion dollars in return for not pushing for changes to global warming, which is what the U.S. wants. If you didnt have foreign aid, who would do what the U.S. wants, who would help the U.S. in its various programs around the world, or allow military bases etc. etc. The U.S. has to pay off these governments.

I have yet to see what most of that so called "aid" accomplishes. Some yes, but it is a well known fact that the money in some third world countries just lines someones pocket. It needs to be evaluated and those countries that are just there for the handout need to be dropped from the government dole.

It would cut spending significantly and probably help with the deficit problem.
In my opinion, very little of the aid given to foreign countries ever makes it to the people it was intended for. It usually ends up in the Swiss bank accounts of whichever person happens to be in control of the country at the time.

The US is the major funder for the United Nations, an organization that runs like a banana republic, and has been responsible for many, many sick crimes under the guise of "peacekeeping" world-wide. Sure, UN aid and UN food drops are great, but the corruption of food-for-oil, etc, was criminal, and we should have bailed.
Same for the enormous amounts of aid we send other countries. You don't know how much we send? No one does!
You cannot say "screw them all" because we do derive some benefits from our spending. But it is a lot of waste.

If you included all foreign military aid and if you closed all of our over seas bases. That would save a lot more we would actually be able to have a balanced budget.

Depends on what that "foreign aid" was used for in the first place, in some circumstances it would benifit everyone foreign and national.
