What are some common themes in jazz songs?

I am studying jazz songs from the 1920s until the present day and am trying to get a concrete list of some of the most popular themes in jazz songs. I also think representations of these themes in specific song lyrics would be helpful so if you have any suggestions of songs or artists to check out, I would also appreciate it!

I imagine I'll be looking at lot of Davis, Marsalis, Coltrane, Armstrong and others, if that gives you an idea of what I am looking for.

Yes I meant theme in terms of jazz lyrics. But now I guess I have work to do finding jazz musicians who do vocals as well...

i might want to do lyrical, or jazz. For lyrical, attempt the songs: I bypass over You - Miley Cyrus those 4 walls - Miley Cyrus The Climb - Miley Cyrus Butterfly Fly Away - Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus Ghost of You - Selena Gomez sweet Serendipity - Lee DeWyze misery - Maroon 5 Animal - Neon timber complicated - Avril Lavgine White Horse - Taylor speedy lower than no situations boost Up - Taylor speedy Crazier - Taylor speedy some might want to be too speedy, i'm uncertain so i assumed i might want to really upload all of them! For jazz, attempt: Proud Mary - Tina Turner Animal - Neon timber woman pal - Avril Lavgine i will't be able to imagine of of many jazz ones, yet all of those are fairly good! good fulfillment at the same time with your solo!

If you're looking for musical theme, its usually the following for who is listed:

    B (occasionally)

    solo section

if you're looking for themes in lyrics, then davis, marsalis, coltrane, etc. are not the legends to refer to when speaking of theme, because these artists are featured mostly instrumentally.
