With Ashish Nehra nd Munaf Patel not generating lot of pace, why not try RP singh and Irfan Pathan?

Both of them have been off colour for a while,BCCI is not giving them a chance to prove themselves.Instead they r trying newbies nd inexperienced players who invariably go for a lot of runs with minimum wickets.RP Singh can bowl in the 140s nd can really intimidate the batsman.Pathan can swing the ball both ways nd even do sm batting. These 2 bowlers can really bring quality in the substandard pacers quality.

Indian team's world cup woes are due to their insufficient bowling. In a ODI situation, bowling determines the outcome more than batting because (a) it is a limited over version and 11 batsmen may not actually get a chance to bat; there is so much of batting and (b) world-over, pitches are being made batsmen-friendly.

During the last 2 years, India tried 29 different bowlers to bowl in ODIs and their lower ODI rating is due to the blunt bowling attack as seen by the following figures:

    1) Ravichadran Ashwin - 5 matches, 1.80 wkt per match, 26.11 runs per wkt, 32 balls per wkt, 4.90 runs per over, My rating - 72.5 marks.

    2) Harbhajan Singh - 28 matches, 1.39 wkt per match, 31.36 runs per wkt, 38 balls per wkt, 4.95 runs per over, My rating - 58.9 marks.

    3) PP Ojha - 11 matches, 1.36 wkt per match, 28.53 runs per wkt, 38 balls per wkt, 4.45 runs per over, My rating - 57.9 marks.

    4) Zaheer Khan - 20 matches, 1.15 wkt per match, 40.91 runs per wkt, 44 balls per wkt, 5.52 runs per over, My rating - 51.7 marks.

    5) Praveen Kumar - 29 matches, 1.21 wkt per match, 33.60 runs per wkt, 38 balls per wkt, 5.25 runs per over, My rating - 49.5 marks.

    6) Amit Mishra - 6 matches, 0.83 wkt per match, 52.80 runs per wkt, 65 balls per wkt, 4.87 runs per over, My rating - 48 marks.

    7) Ashish Nehra - 36 matches, 1.50 wkt per match, 30.61 runs per wkt, 31 balls per wkt, 5.85 runs per over, My rating - 46.8 marks.

    8) Irfan Pathan - 2 matches, 2.00 wkt per match, 28.25 runs per wkt, 24 balls per wkt, 7.06 runs per over, My rating - 46.7 marks.

    9) Ishant Sharma - 23 matches, 1.48 wkt per match, 30.21 runs per wkt, 30 balls per wkt, 6.09 runs per over, My rating - 44.2 marks.

    10) Sreesanth - 10 matches, 1.60 wkt per match, 34.19 runs per wkt, 30 balls per wkt, 6.94 runs per over, My rating - 42.8 marks.

    11) Ravindra Jadeja - 34 matches, 0.85 wkt per match, 42.93 runs per wkt, 53 balls per wkt, 4.87 runs per over, My rating - 41.7 marks.

    12) Munaf Patel - 10 matches, 0.80 wkt per match, 47.00 runs per wkt, 52 balls per wkt, 5.42 runs per over, My rating - 36.2 marks.

    13) Sudeep Tyagi - 3 matches, 0.67 wkt per match, 64.50 runs per wkt, 63 balls per wkt, 6.14 runs per over, My rating - 33.6 marks.

    14) Yuvraj Singh - 34 matches, 0.68 wkt per match, 39.43 runs per wkt, 48 balls per wkt, 4.91 runs per over, My rating - 32.4 marks.

    15) Ashok Dinda - 5 matches, 0.60 wkt per match, 76.00 runs per wkt, 76 balls per wkt, 6.03 runs per over, My rating - 31.2 marks.

    17) Yousuf Pathan - 26 matches, 0.69 wkt per match, 36.22 runs per wkt, 38 balls per wkt, 5.69 runs per over, My rating - 27.9 marks.

    18) R Vinay Kumar - 2 matches, 1.00 wkt per match, 61.00 runs per wkt, 51 balls per wkt, 7.18 runs per over, My rating - 25.9 marks.

    19) U Yadav - 3 matches, 0.33 wkt per match, 129.00 runs per wkt, 132 balls per wkt, 5.86 runs per over, My rating - 22.3 marks.

    20) Pankaj Singh - 1 match, 0.00 wkt per match, 6.43 runs per over, My rating - 10.7 marks.

    21) Virender Sehwag - 30 matches, 0.27 wkt per match, 37.88 runs per wkt, 45 balls per wkt, 5.06 runs per over, My rating - 9.5 marks.

    22) A Mithun - 2 matches, 0.00 wkt per match, 7.25 runs per over, My rating - 5.7 marks.

    23) Rohit Sharma - 21 matches, 0.14 wkt per match, 38.67 runs per wkt, 32 balls per wkt, 4.90 runs per over, My rating - 5.3 marks.

    24) Suresh Raina - 48 matches, 0.10 wkt per match, 53.80 runs per wkt, 64 balls per wkt, 5.08 runs per over, My rating - 5.2 marks.

    25) L Balaji - 1 match, 0.00 wkt per match, 6.40 runs per over, My rating - 3.8 marks.

    26) AM Nayar - 2 matches, 0.00 wkt per match, 5.67 runs per over, My rating - 2.1 marks.

    27) MS Dhoni - 43 matches, 0.02 wkt per match, 14.00 runs per wkt, 12 balls per wkt, 7.00 runs per over, My rating - 0.40 mark.

    28) Virat Kohli - 31 matches, 0.00 wkt per match, 6.21 runs per over, My rating - 0.40 mark.

    29) SR Tendulkar - 21 matches, 0.00 wkt per match, 12.00 runs per over, My rating - 0 marks.

(The best bowling, 100 marks, in a ODI situation is that of Xavier Doherty who played 1 match, took 4 wkts at a cost of 11.50 runs per wkt, each wkt taking 15 balls and he conceded 4.60 runs per over)

So, the best appears that India can try 2 spinners Ashwin and Harbhajan (OR Ojha); along with 2 medium pacers - Zaheer and Praveen (OR Ashish).

Both should be dropped for World Cup 2011 and can be easily replaced by the both of you mentioned above.
