Windows Media Player cannot play DVD....?

I received this message and have been unable to fix it with info from tech forums.

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card."

I have downloaded all current new drivers from Dell, and have gone to the WMP website and have the most current version. I've done all sorts of stuff but nothing works.

Here are my computer specs. Not sure if the info below for the graphics adapter is correct?

System make and model – Dell Dimension 5150/E510

OS – Windows XP Home Ed. SP2

Graphics adapter - Radeon X600 256MB Hyper memory (?)

DVD Millennium (Netflix)

Any help most appreciated.

Update:

I've been able to play DVDs with WMP on this computer for years. I just started getting the message on 12/1.

What is VLC?

VLC is a program like Windows Media Player - but better. It might play what WMP can't. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (it's free and it's safe.)
