Ramadan: Can a Muslim be religious but secular in the same time?

I am Muslim Sunni, I believe in god I pray and I do all the duties... but I have a question. When it comes to politics, can I be secular?

Here in Canada we have a lot of Socialists and Liberals, and most of them are religious Christians. I do not support Muslim countries like Iran and KSA. I support Muslim countries like UAE, Kuwait, Turkey, Egypt.

Am I a Munafiq (a hypocrite) for my political beliefs? thanks.

Update:

By the way I am just 18 so don't call me ignorant :-P

and I support Socialists a lot, NOT COMMUNISTS.

Update 2:

I agree with EVERYTHING the Koran says, I am not denying anything.

But I read the Koran and I noticed it is very close to Liberalism... under an Islamic state people are equal, Islam believes in economical liberalism (taxes go to poor people). No where it says that an Islamic state should be retarded like Iran or KSA, these countries make me sick

islam is a comlplete way of life and it contains the social, economic and policatal system. Rejecting one of them is kuffer. What Allah has made halal is halal and haram is haram.

Secular system does not accept the authority of God. It has man-made rules and applies them to the system and changes them when they wish to. Man-made rules are just desires of humans and are likely to be unjust. The powerful benefit and the poor become poor still. Islam the authority is with Allah, and what He says it is the law. They is justice whether you are muslim or not.

Please study how the messenger of Allah applied Allahs laws to the islamic state.

You are ma sha Allah an intelligent boy and it is good that

you feel about the responsibilities as a Muslim.

When someone embraces Islam, he submits his will to Allah

and undertakes that he will do only those things that are allowed

by Allah and will live a life as directed by Allah in holy Quran and

as shown by personal example of prophet Muhammad.

It is not permissible in Islam to participate in an election which is

open to secularists and non Muslims as voting for them means

accepting their manifesto and their secular points of view. You may

not endorse those but by voting for them, you enable them to do

    what is forbidden by Allah.

Like some powerful nations attack some poor and hapless nations for

their material advantages and if you voted for a party which does this

you are practically helping it to continue this anti-human ruthless policy.

Therefore, never poll a vote in a secular system. That is why Islam does

not allows Muslims to live in non Muslim nations. But you can stay till

you are fully educated and are able to stand on your own feet.

Ultimately whatever allah allows you and thus is in the name of allah as according to quran 5:3-5 is halal, if it is against allah and the quran then it is haram. You'll have to read the quran to find out what is and isn't right as according to islam and leadership and such as well as other such factors.

Islam is not a theocracy, the way an Islamic country/community is supposed to be put together is like any other democracy with one addendum; Quran should be the constitution. If you are interested to read a bit more on the concept please read my post here (safe Google managed) http://lifecheat.blogspot.com/2010/03/is-seperatio... Thanks

It is not possible. You can either like chocolate or dont like chocolate. It is not possible that you say i like chocolate and i dont like chocolate also. If someone do this, so he or she needs a medical checkup.

    I hope you understand.
