Do you agree with this MOST UNDERRATED movies list?

1984 - present

if you don't specify which movies shouldn't be there

http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/mo…

for the lazy and careful ones, I give the first 20:

1. Miller's Crossing - (1991, Joel Coen) (Gabriel, John Tuturro)

2. The Thin Red Line - (1998, Terence Malick) (Sean Penn, John Cusack)

3. Quiz Show - (1994, Robert Redford) (Ralph Fiennes, John Tuturro)

4. Road To Perdition - (2002, Sam Mendes) (Tom Hanks, Paul Newman)

5. Casino - (1995, Martin Scorsese) (Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci)

6. Malcolm X - (1992, Spike Lee) (Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett)

7. Clean Shaven - (1994, Lodge Kerrigan) (Peter Greene, Megan Owen)

8. Ghost Dog - (1999, Jim Jarmusch) (Forest Whitaker, John Tormey)

9. Fresh - (1994, Boaz Yakin) (Samuel L. Jackson, Sean Nelson)

10. Bringing Out The Dead - (1999, Martin Scorsese) (Nicholas Cage, John Goodman)

11. Big Night - (1996, Stanley Tucci) (Stanley Tucci, Marc Anthony, Tony Shalhoub)

12. Man On The Moon - (2002, Milos Forman) (Jim Carrey, Gerry Becker)

13. Downfall - (2004, Oliver Hirschbiegel) (Bruno Ganz, Alexandria Maria Lara)

14. 25th Hour - (2002, Spike Lee) (Edward Norton, Rosario Dawson)

15. Ronin - (1998, John Frankenheimer) (Robert De Niro, Jean Reno)

16. Blow - (2001, Ted Demme) (Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Ray Liotta)

17. Boiler Room - (2000, Ben Younger) (Giovanni Ribisi, Nia Long)

18. In The Company Of Men - (1997, Neil Labute) (Aaron Eckhart, Matt Malloy)

19. The Sweet Hereafter - (1998, Atom Egoyan) (Ian Holm, Sarah Polley)

20. Kundun - (1997, Martin Scorsese) (Tenzin Thuthob Tsarong, Tencho Gyalpo)

BQ: How many movies from that list have you seen? (give the titles)

BQ2: How many titles from that list you've never even heard?

BQ3: Can you make your own MOST UNDERRATED movies of all time list of 10-20 titles? on the condition: it should be REALLY underrated on IMDB, rating LESS than 7 only counts.

Update:

@ A Man Chooses: thank you :))) but it's not mine

Update 2:

I'M SURE DENIRO IS AWESOME TOO ALMOST AS AWESOME AS THE MOVIE ITSELF, but it doesn't have much to do with the question

Update 3:

and you, Brutus?!

even you, Donny?! got so lazy BQ3-wise lol

Update 4:

I personally disagree with this list, but it's the best I've seen in a while, I saw someone put Avatar on the underrated list lol

I don't really think most of those movies are underrated - they have IMDB ratings from 7 up

Update 5:

@Johnny M: why? the link doesn't work?

http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/movie-pages/...

Update 6:

@Avid Film Freak: nice list (BQ3), but still don't think some of your choices are underrated ;)))) and I put the working link there ^^^

Yes, it's a pretty good list lol.

BQ: Lol I'll put the movies I've seen out of the 20 you put.

Miller's Crossing, Road to Perdition, Casino, Malcom X, Ghost Dog, Bringing Out the Dead, Big Night, Man on the Moon, Downfall, 25th Hour, Ronin, Blow, Kundun.'

    BQ2: Just The Sweet Hereafter.

BQ: (I don't think I can come up with 10 because pretty much 8 of the 10 I would have chosen are on that list lol.)

Outlander. It's good for a cult film, and it had good graphics. I know the plot is a little messy and makes no sense (people from another planet accidentally bring a monster to earth during the time of the vikings) but it was still good.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again (it got 7.1!) the movie was hilarious. It had a good plot. Peter Sellers is-WAS :'(- AWESOME. It deserves at least an 8.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico- Are you a MexiCAN, or a MexiCAN'T? Lol. That's a cheesy quote. But, again, it was a cool movie. Give it at least a 7/7.5.

Righteous Kill - I thought it was pretty cool lol. I guess De Niro's character was obviously too defensive. Like, TOO defensive. So defensive, even if I didn't know he killed people, I would know, lol. But other than that I think it's a little underrated. It should have at least a 7.

Okay, Misery got a 7.8 on IMDB, but I think it deserves at least an 8.5-9.

Yeah that's a pretty interesting list. I've seen Miller's Crossing, The Thin Red Line, Casino, Malcom X, Downfall, and The 25th Hour. All great movies.

BQ2: never even heard of Clean Shaven, Ghost Dog, Fresh, Boiler Room and In the Company of Men.

BQ3: ooh this is hard. A lot of the movies on your list have ratings over 7, and I tend to only watch respected movies which tend to have good ratings. I'll give it a try. Note: I did find some movies with ratings in the low sevens which I feel should be much much higher.

    1. Last Tango in Paris-7.1 (Bertolucci). This is actually only underrated on imdb, as many critics have called it a masterpiece

    2.Salo or the 120 days of Sodom-6.1(Passolini)

    3.Cannibal Holocaust-6.1 (Ruggero Deodato)

    4.The Bad Lieutenant-6.9 (Abel Ferrara)

    5.Pink Flamingos-5.9 (John Waters)

    6.Satyricon-6.8 (Fellini)

    7. Eyes Wide Shut- 7.2 (Kubrick)

    Also:

Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His past Lives-7.2

    A Serious Man-7.2 (Coens)

    Alphaville-7.2 (Godard)

    Young Torless-7.3 (Volker Schlondorff)

    Marie Antoinette-6.4 (Sofia Copolla)

    School Daze-5.3 (Spike Lee)

    Tamara Drewe-6.8 (Stephen Frears)

    The Informant-6.7 (Steven Soderberg)

BQ: I've seen only six of them, and being the "film freak" that I am, I'm surprised I've only seen 6. I've seen "The Thin Red Line", "Road to Perdition", "Casino", "Ronin", "Boiler Room", and "Kundun". And parts of Man on the Moon.

NOTE: I'm going off your list of 20 since for me, it seems the original link is broken.

BQ2: I HAVE heard of most, but I have never heard of Quiz Show, Fresh, Bringing out the Dead, Big Night, and 25th Hour.

And before I answer the third question, I will agree from the list that I HAVE seen, that they are highly underrated movies........all except "Casino", which I feel receives enough credit. I feel it's a well done film, and very powerful, but it feels to be a rip-off from Goodfellas, so it loses its feel of originality for me.

BQ3: Ok, here goes. There may be a couple that are rated between 7.0 and 7.7 on IMDB, I hope that's alright. It's just that this list contains movies that a lot of people have never heard of, and should go and see because they are simply MARVELOUS, and I feel that even though they are rated high enough to be above 7.0, they are not well known enough and don't receive enough credit nor attention. So here's my top 20, I'm sure there's more, but this is mostly off the top of my head, along with the help of IMDB:

    1. The Mighty http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119670/

    2. The Book of Eli http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1037705/

    3. The Gods Must Be Crazy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080801/

    4. Waking Ned Devine http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166396/

    5. Sunshine http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448134/

    6. Mercury Rising http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120749/

    7. Flawless http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780516/

    8. Sphere http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120184/

    9. Hannibal http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212985/

    10. Con Air www.imdb.com/title/tt0118880/

    11. Virtuosity www.imdb.com/title/tt0114857/

    12. What About Bob? www.imdb.com/title/tt0103241/

    13. Independence Day (Although quite popular, not rated nearly high enough) www.imdb.com/title/tt0116629/

    14. The Negotiator www.imdb.com/title/tt0120768/

    15. The Game (rated high, but not given the attention it deserves) www.imdb.com/title/tt0119174/

    16. Phone Booth www.imdb.com/title/tt0183649/

    17. Phenomenon www.imdb.com/title/tt0117333/

    18. The Jacket www.imdb.com/title/tt0366627/

    19. Doomsday www.imdb.com/title/tt0483607/

    20. Frozen www.imdb.com/title/tt1323045/
