K (periodic table symbol for potassium).
the general formula (K,AL)Si3O8 where the relative amounts of K and Al can vary to produce different types of feldspar.
K-Spar is sort of a shorthand or slang way of referring to potassium feldspar that geologists use. It just makes keeping notes and other writings easier for those of us who use the term frequently.Source(s): Geographer
