Some might say global warming, war, hunger and poverty, while others will name poor economical conditions, recession etc. However I believe global education system is the bigest problem facing the world today.
There is still an ongoing nature versus nurture debate, however fact of the matter is that even if environmental factors play a minute roll of peoples personalities, we can control and change it. The way we are brought up, if we grow up in a regural family or not, how we are taught, wether we are made to go to church or not all of these small things and many more add up to shape a person. If you look at serial killers for example - most if not all of them come from disturbed families. In my mind the most important place where a child gets his knowledge from (after his own home) is the school. If we would stop for a minute and think you will see that the education system is far from perfect. Although some countries have it better than other but we are still nowhere near as close to a good upbringing of children. I believe the ancient greeks were the closest to perfection atleast as far as I know. They focused on philosphy and arts, creativity was far more important then than is now. The education system back then didnt trap an indidual in to some sort of a frame and thats why back then people were so far ahead of their time. Even Albert Einsten claimed to have achieved what he did due to his simplistic, creative and childishly unique aproach to science. A genius makes advancments not because of his unique set of knowledge, but because of his differenet approach to problem solving.
