Will cloud computing kill IT Outsourcing?

With the advent of cloud computing, even the smallest of businesses has now access to IT architecture once used by major league businesses. Cloud computing is way cheaper, where a user only pays a cheap monthly subscription to keep his/her business running - which may cost lesser than hiring an outsourced worker to do the work. Do you think that cloud computing is a serious threat against outsourcing in the IT sector?

Cloud computing and outsourcing are very different. Both will help revolutionize the performance of small businesses but I don't believe one is a direct threat to the other, they are not mutually exclusive.

Outsourcing, particularly micro-outsourcing for small businesses is in fact booming and cloud computing is only making the process easier. Most of the decent online outsourcing marketplaces either have moved or are in the process of moving to the cloud. This move delivers performance enhancements for the websites and gives them high levels of scalability and redundancy.

So far in 2010 more than $220m USD has been spent on the leading outsourcing and freelancing marketplaces. This compares to a combined total of $500m between 1999 and 2009. Clearly the Cloud is not going to kill IT Outsourcing. If you check the jobs being posted on the leading marketplaces, IT and Technical jobs are still incredibly popular. The cloud won't create a dynamic, fully functioning iPhone or Android App. Nor will it build you a bespoke WordPress template, nor will it create a custom plugin for Joomla or any other open-source solution.

IT Outsourcing will be around for a long, long time to come.

Cloud computing is nicely a familiar way of allotting initiatives in the time of distinctive machines. while one gadget normally hosts a technique or application, a cloud is merely distinctive machines dividing up the paintings. the technique would nicely be abstracted so as that builders do not concentration on allotting the initiatives yet fairly do exactly what they commonly could, so it easily encourages classic programming yet supplies you greater beneficial features. Cloud computing is merely proper whilst factors are lacking. issues like facebook that are very records extensive prefer clouds, ordinary initiatives do not.

No. I don't see it as a serious threat to outsourced employees. Somebody still needs to code. You can get coders significantly cheaper overseas.
