Paperback vs Hardcover books?

Paperback if I'm borrowing from a library. I can fold it back and hold it in my hands comfortably. If I buy paperback, I would be too cautious while holding it and ruin reading a good book.

Hardcover if it's a book I've read an really liked. I want to show people that the best books deserve hardcover. For a mediocre book, sure I'll go with paperback. I'm cheap for everything except for the best.

More people are buying the author's books/she's making more money, and therefore she can step up a level to hardcover books, which sell for a higher price and give more profit to her and her publication company. Be happy. It means she's going to be writing more. Also, her books are now considered "good writing" BECAUSE they are hardcover. Ever notice that those old crappy romance books with Shakespearean dialogue are ALL paperbacks? Usually, publishers make an author's first few books paperbacks, but if they receive great critical success or public sells, then they produce them hardcover. Take Stephenie Meyer for instance; Twilight used to be made paperback, but now all her books are made hardcover.

Hardcovers! Because they look so nice on the shelf and they are so nice to hold. But, sometimes I buy the paperbacks because I'm not sure if I might like the book, but if the book was amazing I'll go buy the hardcovers.

Personally, I prefer paperbacks. They're easier to open and carry. Hardcovers do look nicer on my shelf, though.

I always preferred hardcover because they look nicer! Lol but paperback is less money and easier to read it when your laying down, it bends easy! But I still prefer hardcover :)

Hardcover, it may be more expensive but it keeps the book in good shape unlike my eragon book which is basically in shreds =(
