I'm not familiar with much of Bob Dylan's work, but I like his songs "Like a Rolling Stone" and "Ballad of a Thin Man" pretty well. As for artists who are similar to Dylan, I don't know -- I think he's unique, isn't he?

Isis is my favorite (currently, anyway).

Check out Elliott Smith, The Tallest Man on Earth, Noah and the Whale, Bright Eyes, Mumford and Sons, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, and The Music Tapes

Source(s): Some random folky artists, none of which sound anything like Dylan (except for possibly The Tallest Man on Earth).

You Belong to Me (they used it in the movie Natural Born Killers)

For some other quality folk music, check out Leonard Cohen's early work.
