How long should I cook Bruce's canned yams in a crockpot?

I know canned yams are already soft and really shouldn't be used in a crockpot, but I have a pitch-in at work and I would like them to be warm for the lunch. I arrive at work at 6:30, have a 15 minute break at 8:30 and then eat lunch at 11:00. If anyone could let me know when I should start them and whether to put them on high/low - I'd appreciate it!

Update:

This is to be enough for about 20-30 people

Put some brown sugar, butter and a little cinnamon in there first, then turn them on low at 8:30. They just need to get hot enough to eat. Stir them up before you dive in.

They are very soft and would fall apart in your crock pot. Put them in a microwave bowl with a lid or use a paper napkin or paper towel. Heat for about one minute.

  • Why don't you just microwave them, or use real yams and slow cook them.
