Can I write Ā and Ō instead of Ä and Ö, while writing in Swedish?

I know that when you're writing fast, dots can appear as a line but my question is whether I can give up trying to make dots and simply draw a line above... :) It looks fine... ;)

when you're writing by hand it's totally fine to simply make a line over the letter, that's what I do myself when writing by hand! simply making a line over the letter is much faster than making the dots and you will still see what letter I'm referring to. I guess making the dots is the proper way of writing, but who cares as long as you see what I mean ;) when you're typing though, you should use the proper letters (å, ä and ö). hope this helped :)
