Why do teens act so desperate?

This is totally a generalization, but teens around my area are desperate. They will date ANYONE!!! At my old tiny high school, it got so small that they were all dating each other. They can't even go out and find bfs/gfs. They aren't even interested in each other, they just date because they like the idea of dating. Oh yeah and then they break up a week later. Does anyone else find this annoying?? Do you notice this happening in your area?

Because that is what they are, of course. Desperate to be more mature, to not be left out, to be involved, to be felt as a loving person, to be able to take some control of something that is theirs.

Hmm! Seems reasonable to me. How about you?
