A windbreaker is a thin outer coat designed to resist wind chill and light rain (in other words, a light, impermeable jacket). It is usually of light construction, characteristically made of some type of glossy synthetic material and often incorporating an elastic waistband and zipper. It sometimes includes a hood.

The weather in London and the rest of UK is hard to predict with certainty more than a couple of days in advance. It's quite cool at the moment in the south of England (less than 10C during the day with frosty nights). There are scattered showers. A rain jacket over warm layers is a good idea. A hat can make a difference, too.
