Bad how?
The only bad thing about frying in olive oil is that olive oil has a very low tolerance to heat. It smokes and burns easily.
But it's good for light sautes and low temp frying.
Olive oil is very healthy.
But Canola is actually better for frying and is loaded with omega's.

Olive oil is very healthy, with lots of healthy fats (monosaturated, polysaturated.) Yes, healthy fats! There is a such thing. The only downside is that there's lots of calories; try and not to drown your fritters in the oil.
You might want to try using EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), which is less in calories.

Olive oil is typically considered healthier than canola oil or animal fats, but nothing oily is "good" for you. In moderation, you won't suffer any negative health effects, though. Be smart, and you'll be fine.
