when uploading a photo to the internet...?

ok so when i upload a picture to the internet and it opens up a pop-up of all my files and what not its always defaulted as list view and i want to set its default to thumbnail view how would i do this?

im using windows xp service pack 3

can anyone tell me how to do this?
