Well, it depends what you are talking about. You didn't clarify very well.

When I adopted my dog from the Humane Society, there was no follow up calls or emails done, but I did indeed supply them with my phone number and email address.

So, if you are 100% for sure waiting for an email, just wait and see if it comes. Give it up to a week, because remember, sometimes things are put to the side if people are busy.

If it doesn't come within a week, email, call, or visit where you are talking about and ask for help.

Call them or go into the shelter/rescue.

Possibly they simply found a better home/situation for him. (not saying you were bad, but maybe they found better for the dog's needs)
