recurring knee injury what now please help....!!!!!?
Over a year now I fell off a six foot ramp onto the corner of a metal clamp on my knee. I never went to see a doctor until 3 months ago because I had endless pain and problems with my knee. 2 weeks ago I was on a ride at carnival and my knee gave way making a crunching feeling as it went, that night i went in an ambulance to the nearest first aid post they advised me to seek further medical attention from a GP. Since then I have been to see a GP who has referred me to physio therapy. I forgot to mention to him the severe unstable felling when I walk and just how much pain I am suffering from and the fact that it wakes me up at night. I will tell them that at physio though he wanted them to examine my knee properly as they specialize in joint injuries. I would like to know what i should do for the pain as I have tried everything ive tried RICE not doing sports and painkillers and none seem to be working. I have to wait about a month for physio what shall I do until then for the pain.

Contact your GP again and see if he can get you an appointment quickly with a pain management specialist or team. They will be able to assess your situation and get you on medication that will address the pain until you can get this taken care of. In the meantime, check with your local pharmacist for the best OTC pain meds he can recommend. I'm not sure where you live, but you might be able to get something like Tylenol 3's (with codeine) without a prescription. And these links might help.
