How do you log on to your gmail account: [e-mail] with a yahoo email [e-mail] login?

Question

I have a gmail account but I forgot the pass word. A yahoo email showed up and asked me to fill out a form: names, yahoo emil address, password, question and answer, type in the letters shown in a box.

But I still did not login to my gmail account account. What did I do wrong?
