If someone can launch a missile right off of our shore and the government claims they don't know WTF it was?
Do we really have any protection from a nuclear attack other than our retaliation capabilities?
Submarines could launch hundreds of warheads simultaneously off of our shores.

It is a poorly conceived cover story for somebody making a mistake and has the pentagon scrambling to figure out how the hell it happened. The missiles fly faster then plane myth when we have a huge arsenal of tomahawk-cruise missles in our inventory.
This Boeing 747, commonly called a jumbo jet, makes a cargo-transport flight. The 747, the first of the wide-bodied commercial jets, had its inaugural flight in 1970. Four jet engines propel the plane, which reaches cruising speeds of 885 km/hr (550 mph)."
The BGM-109 Tomahawk is a long-range, all-weather, subsonic cruise missile. Introduced by General Dynamics in the 1970s, it was designed as a medium- to long-range, low-altitude missile that could be launched from a submerged submarine
Speed Subsonic - about 880 km/h (550 mph )
system GPS, TERCOM, DSMAC
platform Vertical Launch System (VLS) and horizontal submarine torpedo tubes (known as TTL (torpedo tube launch))

If the government really didn't know what it was, the government would be in full lock down and the politicians would all be hiding in underground bunkers, like on 9/11/2001.
None of that is happening, so it means they do know what it was but they aren't going to tell us.
It was probably some black program, like the Aurroa, being tested at sea. That looked nothing like a contrail from an ordinary airplane.

OR the defense department is just testing the missile defense system and wants to keep it under wraps for security reasons. But super secret submarines launching mysterious missiles off the coast to nowhere could be a explanation as well I suppose.

well, the trick is... you don't even know it was a missle...
in short, we don't have a lot of answers at all so far... in any way...
one thing that does make me curious... did anyone else see it other than a helicopter? there is only that one piece of footage, right?
