Are non-Valve Steam games kept up to date?

Question

MLB2k10 keeps crashing on me. I don't know if I should apply a patch. I know Steam auto-patches Valve games and other games with Steam Play, but I don't know if it does it with non-Steamplay titles such as MLB 2k10.

Yessir they are kept up to date. You have to actually download the patch tho. And they might have not heard about the glitch yet,
