What year did blood begin getting screen for Hepatitis C for blood transfusions?
I am just curious because I know someone who has it and they said they have had it for 20 years but never used drugs in any form and has no tattoos

Japan was the first country to begin screening the blood supply for HCV in November 1989, followed by Australia in February 1990.
Screening began in the US from May 1990.
