Most British Invasion bands I subdivide into 4 categories: blues-influenced, jazz influenced, pop influenced and r&b influenced I make no distinction between bands that actually invaded (i.e. had hits in America) and those that never broke beyond the UK/Europe

    r&b:

    The Beatles

    The Rolling Stones

    The Kinks

    The Pretty Things

    The Searchers

    The Swingin' Blue Jeans

    The Who

    The Small Faces

    The Troggs

    Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders

    Spencer Davis Group

    The Hollies

    The Tremeloes

    jazz

    Manfred Mann

    Graham Bond Organisation

    Zoot Money

    blues

    the Yardbirds

    The Animals

    John Mayall's Bluesbreakers

    pop:

    Peter & Gordon

    Chad & Jeremy

    Gerry & the Pacemakers

    Herman's Hermits

    Petula Clark

    Cilla Black

    Lulu

    Dave Clark Five

Billy J. Kramer & the Dakotas

So far you all have missed a big one. Some are very close with John Mayall's Blues breakers.

    It's Fleetwood Mac

Remember: Black Magic Woman, Albatross, The Green Manalishi and some damn good live shows played in 1968 - 1970 here in the states.
