What kind of spider is this? (Picture)?

So; I found this ENORMOUS spider on my patio. Scared the living hell out of me. What is it? Is it venomous? Should I kill it? http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/atalia831/...

Update:

I know it's nasty; I just want to know.

Update 2:

By the way; I live in Minnesota.. if that helps.

The photo is not very good, but it could be the cat-faced spider, Araneus gemmoides. It's common in Minnesota. Orb-weavers are cool! They catch flies and other nasty insects :-)

    See picture here:

(by the way, this site, BugGuide, is great for identification of bugs and spiders of all kinds).

Your actually safer leaving them alone, the ones you know about can't harm you as long as know where they are. Always look out for them and don't touch them,
