The highest paid player in the NFL is Tom Brady.

Peyton Manning's contract with the Colts is up at season's end. Many believe that when he renews his contract he will be the highest paid player in the NFL.

It changes from year to year because of salary cap issues. For example, Ben Roethlisberger just signed an 8 year $102 million contract, but he could be paid $5 mil for the next 5 years, and then $25 for the last 3. The top 3 earners for 2007 were Dwight Freeney (30.7), Marc Bulger (17.5) and Leonard Davis (17). For 2006: Richard Seymour (24.7), Drew Brees (22) and Bryant McKinnie (17.5). For 2005: Michael Vick (23.1), Matt Hasellbeck (19) and Orlando Pace (18)
