How does reading affect your brain?
So how does reading improve your brain?

Reading is a lot like dreaming. You construct everything in your mind from symbols printed on a page or a screen. Your brain is doing all the work and the images you create are all coming from your own subconscious, primed by the material being read. I haven't seen Inception, but the idea is similar to the one presented in the trailers. The author provides the setup, and you fill it with your own sense of reality. The advantage over dreaming is that you are awake and can learn more about what you are creating and order things to better serve your needs. Your memories are linked by experience, and reading allows you to form more conscious links between data sets.
