Socrates / Oracle of Delphi:
According to Plato's Apology, Socrates' life as the "gadfly" of Athens began when his friend Chaerephon asked the oracle at Delphi if anyone was wiser than Socrates; the Oracle responded that none was wiser. Socrates believed that what the Oracle had said was a paradox, because he believed he possessed no wisdom whatsoever.
Neo / Oracle The Matrix:
She tells him that he has the "gift", but appeared to be waiting for something, and that in his present life he is not the one. The Oracle warns him that a situation will arise when he will have to choose between his own life or that of Morpheus.
Socrates, not initially thinking that we was the wisest man on Greece started to debate with others and found out that it was true that he was wiser than the other wise men in Greece.
Neo believed initially that he was not "The One" but decided to go to rescue Morpheous telling Trinity and Tank that he (Neo) do not believed that he was "The One" but that he believed that he could get Morpheous out from the Agents, by the end of the movie he convinces himself that he was "The One".Source(s): Seen the movie, read about Socrates, Wikipedia
