附屬子句的動詞need需要有主詞

你如果把need當動詞用,就需要給它一個主詞，讓它成為一個子句。

你如果把need當名詞用,the need to renew the document無法形成一個子句，因為這只是一個帶有不定詞當修飾語的［名詞片語］，在文法上不能和if相連接，而且也語意不全。

Please advise if the document needs to be renewed.

(如果文件需要更新，請提出意見。)

if need使用上缺了be，常見的片語是if need be(如果需要的話，等於if necessary)

I can work until 8 o'clock if need be. (如果需要的話，我可以工作到八點。)
