I own two marmoset monkeys. (Female common marmoset, and a pensulatta make marmoset)
I am 14, almost 15, I am home schooled, dont hangout with people, do drugs or drink.
They are time consuming and a lot of work and expense.
They chew on your wood work(doors, tables, etc). They need a special diet I order from marmosetmom.com and special diapers from sewsimplymonkey.com. diapering is hard, you need to chase them some times, hold there tail and hurry and velco it on, they aren't like a baby and like bathes they don't like water so they tend to scratch and or bite. Those youtube videos didn't teach me anything. from when you get them till 5 months you need to bottle feed them first its every 2 hours then goes up to every 5 hours. They can't be left alone for more than 2 hours every once in a while or they can get anti-social which leads to depression which leads to anger. They like licking up the nose which makes my nose sore till it bleeds sometimes. They can bite hard. They have there own monkey room, its has ropes, swings, wood and outlets are covered. They also need a cage atleast 5ft,5ft,5ft, and that's if they aren't going to be in it much. They have claws which can hurt by climbing up you, so I have a claw board to trim them. They also need a leash when going out and don't let people touch them because the person could have an illness or sue you if the marmoset seriously hurts them cause everyone wants money. Also you need to let them have unfiltered sunlight atleast an hour a day or get a UVB light for an hour a day. they are small but very high maintence, time consuming and expensive.
dont forget you need an exotic vet which costs a lot per visit.
I own two marmosets and if you ever need help on anything(breeder, or just some questions) please contact me. firstname.lastname@example.org
