What cities are made in forests, or around forests?

Question

I know there are many in the east coast with cities located in the forested areas in the interior. I would like to know which ones, and if you live in one or near one, what is it's name. I want to live in one of these cities that are forested, or close a major forest, in the wilderness, thanks.

Suggest you consider Boone, North Carolina. Home of Appalachian State University and right smack in the middle of the Blue Ridge Parkway area of the Appalachian mountains. Beautiful country. Info:
