At 9.10am on June 2, 1980, an anti-tank helicopter leased by the Defense Forces for testing purposes, took off from Linköping/Malmen. The crew consisted of two army pilots.

The pilot in command, who occupied the right seat, was navigating after takeoff, using a map, while the pilot occupying the left seat (the gunner) was flying. The flight proceeded towards a point 2.5 miles north of Vikingstad where a military target car was parked. The car was located at the east end of a stretch of road running in a westward direction, along which the flight test was to start.

The cloud base was at an altitude of almost 330 feet above ground level and the visibility was estimated by the pilot in command to be 2.5 to 3 miles.

When the pilot in command spotted the target car the helicopter was flying on a northwesterly heading at a speed of approximately 110 knots at 160 to 250 feet altitude. He instructed the gunner to follow the previously mentioned road to the left, then continued to read the map. To follow the instruction a left turn with approximately 45° change of heading had to be made.

When the pilot in command looked up from the map he noticed that the helicopter was losing altitude with increasing left-bank angle and that there was a low rotor rpm warning indication. He also had the feeling that the load factor was high before the rotor hit the ground on the left side. The gunner also noticed that the left collective control stick, without his assistance, moved upwards during the left turn.

    小誠謝謝你,不過我相信可以更好。

    Jim謝謝你,我要的就是你這種的,因為自己本身也會英文,好歹自己本身也讀過高職三年應外科,不過也有個一年多不常碰英文了,所以若自己翻應該會有好些錯誤,又得翻字典,但自己時間又不多,況且可能又不太通順,而看了你的翻譯確實不錯,希望再貼的也能幫我翻一下。
