Why has the U.N. been calling for increased "global governance" of the world's economy?

Why do THEY need to be able to govern individual country's economies? Isn't this a dangerous precedent? WHo would be foolish enough to let the U.N. hold sway over their country's economy?

excerpt...

the address of the Swiss president of the General Assembly, Joseph Deiss, who said on Thursday at the opening of the annual gathering of world leaders in New York that it was time for the United Nations to "comprehensively fulfill its global governance role."

Deiss suggested the world body should get more involved in economic and financial issues and not leave them solely in the hands of forums like the Group of 20 club of key developed and developing nations.

They want to use the taxing authority that could give them to redistribute wealth from evil capitalist countries to the poorer, exploited countries. If you haven't noticed, this is the kind of thing Obama has been encouraging.

Increased. That means they already control it somewhat. The Gramm Beach Bliley Act was set up based on increasing global investments and also with the UN ideal of everyone being a home owner. Our trade deals are made by the G20 and G8. They do not benefit us. UN Agenda 21 calls for redistribution of wealth from the wealthy western nations to the poor countries. That is why nothing benefits the US anymore.

The G20 speak for the world's capital, the billionaires who own them-from Ingrid Bettancourt to the Coch brothers and Bush. The UN is an attempt at having diplomats talk for us. We need more forums, too.

Power and control. It's really no more complicated than that.
