How long does it take for a surgery scar to turn white?

I got surgery about 4 moths ago. My ribs were kind of deformed and i got some of the bones removed from each side so they wouldint poke out anymore. The Dr. said that I almost got bird chest but it didint go to my chest it affected my ribs insted. I am only 13 and i am a girl, so i am all worried about how it will look next year in a bikini. there is 2 scars on each side of my ribs about an inch long. They are red right now and I am really scared they will stay that way..will they? and they feel wierd too..will they always feel wierd? please help :(. Thanks,(:

Use a lotion with cocoa butter on your scar and make sure you use plenty of sunscreen when you are out in the sun.

I had ankle surgery six months ago and my scar is still kind of pink. I was told to give it a year.

Ask your doctor at your next checkup.

He may refer you to a dermatologist who can help with the scarring.
