Personally, I believe that this is an issue that can never be resolved. On the one hand you have a group of people who believe that sex is a sacred gift from a Creator who designed it with a purpose: as a means for a married man and woman to experience intimacy and pleasure on every level of their existence - physical, emotional, and spiritual. The ultimate goal was for them to be able to experience a oneness not achievable by any other means.
One the other hand you have a group of people who either deny the existence of God or else deny His authority in their lives and there view of sex is that it is an fortuitous accident of nature capable of bringing us immense pleasure. Therefore, the more the merrier. And let there be no bounds to it either.
Unfortunately, there are many consequences that go along with sex. Disease, pregnancy, and the emotional fallout. Sex is not a victimless act. Lives are shattered, children harmed, and hearts are broken. And for what? Just for the opportunity to get off !
The reason that I say this issue can never be resolved is because people will never reform their behavior until they can find a purpose to live for that is greater than themselves. And until they do, they will only see their fellow human beings as potential source of personal gratification.
