Calculate how long it took King Kong to fall straight down from the top of the Empire state building (380 meters high) and his velocity just before landing?

    d = 1/2 * a * t^2

    360 = 1/2 * 9.8 * t^2

    Solve for t,

    Then v = a*t, where a = 9.8 m/sec^2 and use the "t" you just found.

    It would take ABOUT!!! 7.16 sec. Terminal velocity is right about 120mph. Thats the fastest a falling objetct can go. Thats 193kph. Divide 193 by 60(for 60minutes in an hour) and you get 3.21. So 3.21 kilometers per minute. Mulitply that by 1000 for 1000 meters in a kilometer you get 3200. Divide that again for 60 seconds in a minute. You get 53.33 meters per second. 53 goes into 380 7.16 times. This does not take into consideration the amount of time it takes to accelerate. It would probably be more like 10 seconds.
