  • I'm sure you know them, but I just want to make sure you realize the lead singer of Blur and Gorillaz is Damon Albarn, who is also the vocalist of the Good, the Bad & the Queen. That said:

    - Patrick Watson: The Giver, The Great Escape, Drifters, Close to Paradise

    - Jarvis Cocker (or Pulp): "Running the World," "From Auschwitz to Ipswich," "I Never Said I Was Deep," "Black Magic"

    - Spiritualized: "Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space," "Broken Heart," "Death Take Your Fiddle," "Cool Waves"

    - Jonathan Fire*Eater (a few members of the Walkmen's previous band--huge influence on the Strokes)

    - Bombay Bicycle Club

    - Broken Social Scene

    - Band of Skulls

    - The Weepies

    - Fanfarlo

    - Neutral Milk Hotel

    - of Montreal

    - The Antlers

    - Peter Doherty

    - She Keeps Bees

    - Damien Rice

    - The Horrors

Wow, that's a really awesome list! You'd like really like Hot Hot Heat, Modest Mouse, and Peter Bjorn&John. Modest Mouse is my favourite band ever. You should listen to "Harmonicas and Tambourines" from Hot Hot Heat, "Missed the Boat" or "Trailer Trash" from Modest Mouse, and "Young Folks" from Peter Bjorn & John... just to get you started, of course.
