Hotel info near Chichen Itza?

Question

I heard it is better to stay closer before visit for more time and comfortable weather.

Is there a lot of hotels to choose? safe? overpriced? which one do you recommend?

There are several hotels near Chichen Itza: I suggest you stay in Valladolid. This is a small Mayan Mexican village There are other interesting places near Valladolid that should be visited like Ik-Kil and Dzinup cenotes; also visit the impressive Ek Balam archaeological site 20 minutes north of Valladolid on the road to Tizimín. The pyramids here are bigger than the ones at Chichén Itzá. Now near the ruins of Chichen Itza there are several hotels as well. Please check out the links that I have included.

Near Chitzen Itza, Hacienda Chichen Resort is very nice and expensive. 130 to 170 a night.Closer to my budget is Hotel Chichen Itza at around 50 a night. Stayed many times.
