Nutrisystem D is a low carb food plan.
Glucometer and sufficient test strips for minimum of 4 per day!
Prepare any food for eating at snack time. Test glucose, eat the food, 90 minutes later test again. If glucose spikes more than 50 mg/dL consider whether to delete that food from your plan or to have less of it less often. Journal your life!!
I get along fine with South Beach Living phase 2. If the Schwann Truck were more dependable I would consider the Nutrisystem D food plan.
Avoid most grains, cereals, (no matter if white or brown still higher carb than you want), root veggies, soft sweet fruits, milk products, "diet" food products and drinks, "sugar free" food products and drinks, etc.
"Diet" and "sugar free" usually contain ingredients more harmful than those exchanged. Sugar alcohols are laxitives. Other stuff has added salt and fat to make it taste good.
My main bugaboo is flour of any kind! I can have sugar in my tea and coffee without much problem, but the flour in products gives me loads of trouble. And it doesn't matter if it is white or whole grain. It still packs a carby wallop to my glucose.
