Experts had said the earthquake in Mexico relieved pressure on the San Andreas Fault, yet now say it's overdue?

They had said the Easter earthquake in Mexico relived pressure on the San Andreas Fault. Now they just came out with a new study saying it is "Locked and loaded" and is overdue for a very large quake. Which is correct?

    Both statements are correct. If you think about it they are not contradictory. The Mexico quake could have relieved some pressure on the SAF, but the SAF could still be overdue.
