The pay of a Marine is based on time in service and time in rank. Starting out salary is $1447.00 per month before taxes. What a person does with their pay is up to them, they want to donate it, they can but most personnel have some expenses that need to be paid.

Go to this link http://www.dfas.mil/militarypay/militarypaytables/... and it will show you the monthly salary for your pay grade and time in service. You can always set up an allotment through mypay to any charity you would like, Hope this helps.
