Dance team at school or somewhere else? Do you know what kind of dancing will be done? For help that can apply to any type of dance, strengthen your abs and legs and stretch every day.
Hollow holds-lay on your back with your head and shoulders off the ground and your butt and legs off the ground. Hold for at least 30 seconds. Go a little longer every time.
Sit ups-pretty self explanatory and everyone knows what they are
V ups-a sit up but with straight arms and legs-the correct way to do them is to not let your feet or hands touch the ground when you are coming down-this makes it harder. Also, reach for your toes when you do them so your back stays straight.
Planks-go into a push up position but with your forearms resting on the ground. Keep your back straight and your belly tucked in. Do not arch your back and let your belly hang out-this hurts and it doesn't strengthen your abs. Hold this for at least 30 seconds, then build up.
Leg lifts.-lie on your back with your legs straight. slowly lift your legs untill your toes are pointing towards the ceiling. Bring them down, but don't touch the ground. This makes your legs work harder. Do about 15-20 then build up every day
Leg holds ( sit in a chair and your your legs straight out in front of you) Hold for 30, build up
Bridge (for shoulders and back)
