Windows Movie Maker is a very useful application to edit videos, and it has many features such as effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, timeline, narration and so on. However, if you want to edit flip videos using Windows Movie Maker, you will have to convert camera video to Windows Movie Maker supported video formats such as ASF, AVI and WMV. Then you will need a video to Windows Movie Maker Converter.
here is a fact that Windows Movie Maker didn’t play nice with Slide HD as well as Flip Ultra and Mino HD. The problem is with the video codec that the Flip uses: MPEG-4 AVI/H.264 encoded MP4 format. Windows 7 or Windows Movie Maker lacks native support for playing MP4 videos. You will have to download and install extra codec for MP4 support (XP and Vista does this automatically).

Windows Movie Maker supports these video formats:
* Video files: .asf, .avi, .wmv
* Movie files: MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2
if windows movie maker can't support flip video, you can get another video editor help you,
I'd like to recommend AVS Video Editor to you, I always use it to edit video and make funny video for uploading to Youtube, it's easy to use and the quality is awesome, you can crop, cut, join, edit video with it easily. It also embeds many special effects, you can even add text to video or add background music, that's pretty cool. It worth a try

Hi, first, please make sure the video could be compatible with windows movie maker.
Here are Supportable formats for windows movie maker:
Video files: .asf, .avi, .wmv
Movie files: .mpeg1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2
Audio files: .wav, .snd, .au, .aif, .aifc, .aiff
Windows Media files: .asf, .wm, .wma, .wmv

That is to say, you should try a flip video converter to convert it to .wmv which works well on windows movie maker. Here i wanna recommedn SnowFox Total Video Converter which im using now. it works great for me. and many of my friends are using and in favor of it, not only because of its powerful conversion, but also of its superior video quality.

This is because Windows Movie Maker does not support many video formats.
WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER does not support all file types, not hd, mpeg4, mts, mod, mov or h.264 files. If your camera shoots in those formats you will have to convert to use WMM.
