Considering that the Earth has been getting lightning for billions of years and that most of the Earth's surface is covered by ocean as well as the fact that whales have been around for many millions of years as well as there used to be many millions more whales living in the ocean, then i would say the likelihood of a whale being struck by lightning would be a 100% certainty. Especially with there being 16 million lightning storms on Earth each year.
